"Gee, I wish I'd said that"

"We will win too. But it won’t be with same crew that brought us to defeat. Let me say in print what so many of us believe in our hearts: the present generation of conservative leaders has failed us miserably. For the most part, congressional republicans are a village of pygmies. Few have genuine leadership qualities. Fewer still can compose a clear English sentence in defense of our ideas."  Never Give In - Jerry Bowyer

"The role of the Republican Party is to rebuild in the shadow of the frustrations of the Obama presidency. Just as MoveOn.org built a massive grass-roots base that yesterday impelled the Democrats to victory, so the Republicans must go down to their grass-roots, get in touch with their base and rebuild an opportunity to win national elections. Government has been bad for the party. It has sapped the party's soul and eroded its purity. But opposition, especially as a socialist like Obama wrestles with the practical problems of capitalism, will be a heady experience for the Republicans. The conservative movement can be reborn in opposition in a way they never could have been as the governing party."  President Obama: A Trustee in Bankruptcy - Dick Morris & Eileen McGann

"Politicians have immense power to do harm to the economy. But they have very little power to do good."  George Mason University economist Walter Williams  Who Will Run the Country? - John Stossel

Obama Warns Setbacks & False Starts

There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won’t agree with every decision or policy I make as President, and we know that government can’t solve every problem... (BHO, 11/4/08)

Really, Chairman Obama? Set backs and false starts? The government can't solve every problem? How can this be?

These are surprising words from one whose campaign rhetoric fooled a majority of voters into believing that he had all the answers, all the experience, and a solid plan to solve every problem of government, society, and even the world. Setbacks and false starts? The government can't solve every problem? These are defeatist waffle words never uttered over the course of your campaign, of course. It should remind everyone of their last encounter with the smarmy car salesman who said, "Sign here..." while covering up the fine print with his fat fist. What a shame that the American voter doesn't have a 3-day consumer protection clause that would allow us to change our minds and cancel your contract.
